Downtown LA Needs a Modern Convention Center The c Downtown LA Needs a Modern Convention Center
The current convention center is showing its age. Because of its size and outdated facilities, we’re losing major events and conventions—meaning fewer visitors, less foot traffic, and reduced business for our local community.
a modernized, expanded convention center would:
* Attract more events + conventions
* Boost hotel + hospitality growth (and city tax revenue)
* Support long-term post-pandemic
recovery of Downtown LA
* Strengthen our local economy for years to come
Yes, expansion costs money. But the benefits far outweigh the costs—especially if we begin with a phased approach now. Starting sooner will cost significantly less than waiting until after 2028.
