Summary of 9/14/2009 PLUC Meeting

Here is a summary of the DLANC Planning & Land Use Committee meeting on 9/14:

MEETING AGENDA

1.      Call to order and roll call.  6:40 pm.

2.      Public comment – Comments from the public on non-agenda items within the Committee’s subject matter jurisdiction.  None.

3.      Presentation by Veronica Becerra (Rabuild Commercial) regarding Rosslyn Lofts proposed bar/lounge project at 111 W. 5th Street (CUB-CUX).
Action:  PLUC recommends that DLANC write a letter of support.

4.      Presentation by Manny Diaz (FE Design) regarding request for beer and wine service at The Nickel Diner at 524 S. Main Street (ZA-2009-2565-CUB).
Continued to October meeting.

5.      Update by Chris Murray (Rosenheim & Associates) regarding CUB application and related appeal on The Firehouse at 710 S. Santa Fe Street (ZA-2008-3108-CUB-CUX).
Action:  None.  DLANC to monitor progress of new CUB application to be filed by property owner.

6.      Update regarding hearing on CUB/CUX application for Le Mystere at 610 E. 7th Street (ZA-2009-710-CUB-CUX-CU).
Action:  None.  ZA hearing completed; file will close shortly.

7.      Update by Morrie Goldman regarding CUB/CUX application for the Tower Theater project at 800 S. Broadway (ZA-2009-937-CUB-CUX).
Item continued to October meeting.

8.      Update on the Park 101 Freeway Cap project.
Action:  PLUC recommends that DLANC vote to support the project, and requests Board authority to write letters of support for future funding opportunities.

9.      Approval of minutes from prior meetings:  August 18, 2009.
Action:  Past meeting minutes approved.

10.  Future agenda items.  Next meeting scheduled for October 20, 2009.
Tammy Billings provided a brief summary of AEG’s request for expansion of LASED area to include additional parcel with office and hotel uses.  Initial hearing on addendum to EIR later this month; AEG will formally present changes to PLUC in October meeting.

11.  Board member comment – None.

12.  Adjournment – 8:45 pm
