MEETING AGENDA
1. Call to order and roll call.
2. Public comment – Comments from the public on non-agenda items within the Committee’s
subject matter jurisdiction. Public comments are limited to two (2) minutes per speaker.
3. Presentation by Manny Diaz (FE Design) regarding request for beer and wine service at The Nickel Diner at 524 S. Main Street (ZA-2009-2565-CUB).
Proposed action: PLUC to recommend that DLANC write a letter of support.
4. Update by Morrie Goldman regarding CUB/CUX application for the Tower Theater project
at 800 S. Broadway (ZA-2009-937-CUB-CUX).
Proposed action: PLUC to recommend that DLANC write a letter of support.
5. Presentation by Brandon Finch (EPG, Inc) regarding CUB applications for proposed
restaurant and bar/lounge projects for the Blackstone Building at 901 S. Spring Street.
Proposed action: PLUC to recommend that DLANC write a letter of support.
6. Discussion of DLANC area projects proposed for no position:
a. 832 W. 5th Street – categorical exemption for 15 lots
b. 900 W. Olympic – zone change to annex 4 parcels
c. 217 E. 8th Street – historical national registry
d. 1201 S. Figueroa – categorical exemption for 3 antennae
7. Update by Martha Saucedo (AEG Worldwide) regarding LASED expansion projects. Proposed action: To be determined.
8. Report by Tammy Billings (AEG Worldwide) regarding the Regal Cinemas project at LA Live.
9. Approval of minutes from prior meetings: September 14, 2009. Proposed action: Past meeting minutes to be approved.
10. Future agenda items. Next meeting scheduled for November 17, 2009.
11. Board member comment – Comments from Board members on subject matters within the Committee’s jurisdiction.
12. Adjournment.
The public is requested to fill out a “Speaker Card” to address the DLANC Planning & Land Use Committee (Committee) on any item of the agenda prior to the Committee taking action on an item. Comments from the public on agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that is within the Committee’s subject matter jurisdiction will be heard during the public comment period. Public comment is limited to 2 minutes per speaker, unless waived by the presiding officer of the Committee.
